Capabilities
We are a full development partner to our OEM customers and we continually extend our capabilities within cooler design, quality assurance, project management and manufacturing.
Setrab Production System (SPS)
SPS is a lean-based framework for systematically eliminating waste and driving quality and productivity improvements. It provides values, principles, and tools to manage, measure, and improve Setrab’s key processes. SPS was launched as a group-wide program in 2007 and it has enabled us to achieve significant reductions in manufacturing lead times and internal scrap rates, resulting in world-class product quality and delivery performance.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
Setrab operates a unified management system for quality, environment and work place safety. The management system has been certified by Bureau Veritas to be in accordance with the requirements of the IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
Design and Development
Setrab is a full development partner to our OEM customers. We utilize Kuli, FEM, CFD, and propriatery software to simulate and optimize cooler design, Catia and various Autocad systems for cooler design, and we are able to exchange CAD information electronically.
We have an on-site lab facility and external test partners to allow us to carry out all relevant development and validation testing.
Rapid prototyping is one of our strengths. Our plant in Sweden is has a prototype shop and validation department to produce and test A-Samples within several weeks.
Project Management
Setrab is certified to IATF 16949 and is well accustomed to APQP and PPAP requirements. We apply a Visual Planning methodology to all projects to allow us to focus and remove problems early in the development cycle.
Manufacturing
Setrab’s manufacturing process centers on the Nocolok brazing process (Controlled Atmosphere Brazing), which we have been using since 1979. We have a number of fin and turbulator machines to enable us to optimize cooler design. 100% of our coolers are leak and pressure tested in an automated helium-based system. We have TIG-welding capabilities and an epoxy-based paint lines.
Our policy is to use our Swedish facility for product development, prototyping, and small volume series. Larger volume series are normally placed in our Polish facility but both plants use identical processes so the transfer of products between plants as volumes grow is simple.
