History
Setrab was founded in 1968 as a trading company. The company imported various racing-related products to the Scandinavian market.
In the mid 1970s, Setrab started supplying oil coolers to Saab Automobile and Volvo Cars for a number of production models. Due to supplier capacity constraints, Setrab decided to setup its own manufacturing of oil coolers in 1979.
During the 1980s, Setrab established relationships with a number of high performance car manufacturers, e.g. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, and Bentley/Rolls Royce. However, Saab and Volvo still generated 80% of turnover.
At the beginning of the 1990s Setrab took a decision to focus solely on small to medium-sized volumes of customised high performance oil coolers for automotive and industrial applications.
In the mid 2000s the strategy was modified to focus on fewer market segments and higher contract volumes. A brand new manufacturing facility was set up in Karlino in Poland in 2007 to allow Setrab to manufacture higher volume products at a lower cost.
Since then we have added a number of other brazed aluminium products to our range, e.g. charge-air coolers, water radiators, and plate heat exchangers, in order to become a more complete systems supplier to our OEM customers.
